Hi Liz,

I can't imagine anyone choosing to let the technical side slip. As a custom design-oriented architectural firm, relegating the design process into a series of standardized details is not something that we are inherently drawn towards. Standardized details have their place but we are constantly looking to expand the creative process - and that includes how we detail our projects.

Thanks for taking the time to comment, we appreciate it!

It's not ok for us to let the "technical slide slip." We need creative people working on the beginning of a design, but technically-minded people refining it, so it's buildable and durable. Thanks for writing - you inspired me to finish writing a blog post I started the other day.

Adam,

Sorry for such a ridiculously long time to respond, that won't happen again. All the boards were reused - concrete companies never seem to throw anything away. When the form-work was dismantled, every piece was sorted into piles based on materials and sizes and collected. Some were used on site and some went onto the back of the concrete crew's truck.

Great question.
