Rowlett Fire Station #1

Designed around the universal icons of the firehouse and the spirit of the firefighters’ everyday contributions, Fire Station No. 1 encompasses the most recent advancements in architecture and industry technology.  Bernbaum-Magadini was commissioned to design the new fire station to house a Paramedic Engine Company, a Mobile and Reserve Intensive Care Unit Ambulance, and the city’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to better service the southwest region of the city of Rowlett.

Fire Station No. 1 has a classic appearance created by incorporating classic features such as radius bay doors, dark iron-spot brick and vintage-style exterior lighting.  Since this facility is prominently located along a major arterial roadway, it was important to the department and the neighborhood that this station be a civic icon within the community, look attractive and to have the look and feel of a genuine firehouse.
