High Grove Residence

The architects of Bernbaum-Magadini created the look and feel of the rainforest in this whole house remodeling project which was featured in Dallas/Fort Worth House & Home magazine.

A unique feature of this addition was placement of the new master suite at the front of the house instead of the more conventional location, at the back.

“Placing the master suite addition on the front had a better flow and created a separation from the home’s other bedrooms,” Tricy Magadini told the magazine. “It also added more dimension to the front of the house.”

The master bedroom features a new fireplace flanked by windows that bring the outdoors inside and give the feeling that the bedroom is larger than it is.

A floating vanity, mosaic glass tiles and wall-mounted faucets are distinguishing features of the spa-like master bath, which runs the entire length of the addition. The shower and tub are placed side by side and encloses behind glass to make the most of limited space.

A portion of the front porch was turned into a hallway and gallery for artwork, creating a grand entrance into the front of the home.
